Job Description
The Grant Manager / Writer will be responsible for identifying, researching, and applying for funding opportunities from government bodies, foundations, and other grant-making organizations. This role involves developing persuasive proposals and business cases that align with LandSeed’s mission and program goals. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and experience in creating successful funding proposals, ideally within the North American context.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with LandSeed’s mission and programs.
- Write and submit high-quality proposals, business cases, and funding applications.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant information, data, and stories for proposals.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, reporting schedules, and submission requirements.
- Ensure all proposals meet funder requirements and are submitted on time.
- Track application outcomes and maintain records for future reference.
- Support the development of donor communications and funding reports as needed.
Required skills and qualifications
Experience & Education
- 1 - 5 years in grant writing, business proposal writing, or related fields.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree
Required Skills
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives.
- Proven research skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
Great to Have, Not Required
- Experience writing business or grant proposals in North America (highly valued).
- Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and housing or community development programs.
- Knowledge of funding databases and grant research tools.
- Prior success in securing funding from foundations or government agencies.
