OASW is the voice of the social work profession in Ontario and our mission is to mobilize mental health and wellbeing across Ontario. About the Role

OASW is seeking a dedicated volunteer Grant Writer to research, identify, and apply for grant funding opportunities that align with the Association’s mission. In this role, you will work closely with our leadership team to understand program needs, gather relevant information, and craft strong, compelling proposals. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact the growth and sustainability of Association programs through persuasive writing and collaborative research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with OASW’s mission and programs.
  • Write clear, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with leadership to gather necessary data, impact stories, and organizational information.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in grant writing or proposal development. Experience in a non-profit organization or the social service sector is an asset.
  • Education: Degree in social work will be considered an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent written communications skills. Strong attention to detail. Solid research and data synthesis skills.


Time Commitment

  • 2-3 hours per week on average for a minimum period of 1 year
  • Hybrid, with occasional travel to office in downtown Toronto
