POSITION SUMMARY:
The Grant Director is a senior leader responsible for overseeing an organization’s grant-seeking, grant-
writing, and grant management activities. This role is critical for securing external funding and ensuring
compliance with grant requirements, directly supporting the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifying grant opportunities: Researching and identifying potential grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with the organization’s mission and priorities.
- Writing and coordinating proposals: Leading the development of compelling grant proposals,
coordinating input from staff and stakeholders, and ensuring proposals meet funder
requirements. - Managing the grant application process: Overseeing the submission of applications, tracking
deadlines, and ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate. - Building and maintaining funder relationships: Networking with current and potential funders to enhance the organization’s visibility and improve chances of securing funding.
- Ensuring compliance: Monitoring grant-funded activities to ensure compliance with grant terms, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Grant performance evaluation: Tracking and evaluating the impact and performance of grant-
funded projects, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. - Supporting staff and project teams: Assisting with program design, budget development, and
grant implementation, and providing training on grant management best practices. - Maintaining records: Keeping accurate records of grant applications, awards, expenditures, and reporting to support audits and organizational transparency, all programs and facilities comply with safety standards, risk management protocols, and legal requirements.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:
We are looking for someone with experience in grant writing and management, with organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
