Google Ads Specialist (Remote, Volunteer, Part-Time)
Organization: Right to Live Canada
Location: Remote
Openings: Multiple positions
Start Date: Immediately
Position Type: Unpaid volunteer role
Time Commitment: Part-time, minimum 12 hours per week for at least three months
Meeting Requirement: Required attendance at 1–3 virtual meetings per week, with a maximum of three meetings per week.
Right to Live Canada is recruiting a small team of Google Ads Specialists to expand our existing Google Ad Grant campaigns across the Right to Live website.
Our Google Ad Grant account is already established, and we have other campaigns running. The immediate priority is to create effective Google Search campaigns that send qualified visitors to our OpenABLS landing page and OpenABLS sponsorship page, then improve those pages so that more visitors become sponsors.
The team will also create and optimize campaigns for other important sections of the Right to Live website.
------ THE MISSION
Right to Live Canada exists to realize the right to live as a practical, supported, executable choice.
We were founded in response to systemic poverty-driven euthanasia amongst Canadians with disabilities: cases where Canadians choose MAiD because they cannot access the essentials required to continue living. This is a specific form of economic euthanasia: euthanasia where a preferable living future existed, but was not achieved.
That crisis remains our founding application point. It is not the boundary of our work.
Right to Live Canada is building Continuity: the service, financial, technological, and institutional architecture required to keep life connected to preferable living futures. We work from the recognition that biological escape velocity may become achievable for a significant portion of people alive today, and that the right to live must now be pursued with the seriousness, urgency, and scale appropriate to that possibility.
Our four core areas are:
- Continuity Service — developing a service to identify, propose, finance and execute preferable living futures in the event of potential death
- Continuity Insurance — developing a finance model for Continuity Service in the event of potential death scenarios
- Social Brokerage — developing a system to productize and sell the anonymized outcome of a life supported to the global market as an impact product in exchange for the capital to accomplish it, in order to fund those who cannot afford Continuity Service or Insurance
- Corporate Farming — developing a global-scale system to take concepts, form a structure around them starting with a team, incubate them internally and nurture their growth towards incorporation, and then emitting them as formed non-profits dedicated to their founding concept such as a technology, project, infrastructure or issue.
Right to Live Canada is a founder-centric, early-stage non-profit pursuing rapid national and global expansion. We use the advantages of the non-profit form — volunteer-class labor, sponsorship sales, grants, subsidized infrastructure, open development, impact monetization, and institutional farming — to uphold and extend the right to live for humans and, ultimately, other conscious beings.
------ THE PROJECT
OpenABLS is an open-source Artificial Brain Life Support initiative developing a path from a reproducible experimental workbench to an integrated development prototype and, ultimately, a market-ready reference platform.
Right to Live Canada is a Canadian non-profit building Continuity: the service, financial, technological and institutional architecture required to keep life connected to preferable living futures.
------ ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time, volunteer and remote role for a Google Ads Specialist with Right to Live Canada.
The Google Ads Specialists will work as a small team with the Executive Director to add and optimize campaigns within RTL’s active Google Ad Grant account.
The first goal is to have new OpenABLS campaigns operating within two weeks. After launch, the remainder of the initial three-month commitment will focus on improving traffic quality, landing-page performance and completed sponsorships while expanding campaign coverage across the rest of the RTL website.
Responsibilities include:
- Researching high-intent search terms.
- Organizing campaigns and ad groups.
- Writing, launching and testing advertisements.
- Monitoring search terms and adding negative keywords.
- Improving targeting and traffic quality.
- Setting up or verifying conversion tracking.
- Measuring campaign and landing-page results.
- Identifying practical changes that could help the OpenABLS pages generate more sponsorships.
- Expanding campaign coverage across other important areas of the Right to Live website.
This is a hands-on execution role. We need people who can work directly inside Google Ads, launch campaigns, examine actual results and make useful improvements quickly.
------ TIME COMMITMENT AND MEETINGS
This role requires a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week for at least three months. Twelve hours is the minimum accepted weekly commitment, not an approximate target.
Team members must also be able to attend required virtual meetings. Depending on the work underway, there will be between one and three virtual meetings per week, with a maximum of three meetings in any week.
------ QUALIFICATIONS
Universal Requirements:
- You must possess good equipment for virtual meetings, including both video and audio, as well as a reliable computer and internet connection.
- You must attend virtual meetings from a space where you can give them your full attention.
- You must be able to attend 1–3 required virtual meetings per week.
- You must understand that this is a remote, unpaid volunteer opportunity with a Canadian non-profit.
- You must be able to contribute at least 12 hours per week for a minimum of three months.
Required:
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing Google Ads campaigns that produced measurable digital conversions, such as online sales, paid registrations, donations, sponsorships or qualified leads.
- Experience optimizing campaigns against conversion rate, cost per acquisition, return on ad spend, conversion value or comparable performance measures.
- Strong understanding of keywords, search intent, match types, negative keywords, ad groups and responsive search ads.
- Ability to connect search intent, advertisement copy, landing-page experience and transaction flow into a functioning conversion funnel.
- Practical experience with conversion tracking and Google Analytics.
- Ability to interpret campaign data and make changes that improve conversion performance.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work remotely with a high degree of ownership and follow-through.
- Availability to begin promptly and maintain the required commitment for at least three months.
Preferred:
- Experience managing campaigns through a Google Ad Grant account.
- Google Ads certification.
- Experience optimizing sponsorship, donation or other conversion-focused landing pages.
- Experience with Google Tag Manager, GA4, Wix or Stripe.
- Experience writing conversion-focused advertisements or landing-page copy.
- Experience supporting technology, healthcare, scientific, open-source or mission-driven campaigns.
Candidates do not need to specialize in every area. We are recruiting multiple people and welcome Google Ads, PPC, paid-search and SEM professionals whose strongest experience is in campaign management, keyword research, advertising copy, analytics, conversion tracking or landing-page optimization.
------ THE TWO-WEEK GOAL
Within the first two weeks, our goal is to have:
- Focused OpenABLS Google Search campaigns added to our active Ad Grant account.
- Advertisements directing qualified visitors to both OpenABLS pages.
- Conversion tracking working correctly.
- Initial landing-page improvements implemented or ready for immediate implementation.
- Simple reporting showing traffic, meaningful visitor actions and sponsorship results.
------ THE INITIAL THREE-MONTH RESULT
By the end of the initial three months, the OpenABLS campaigns should be running reliably and improving based on actual search, visitor and sponsorship performance.
Additional campaigns should also be directing relevant search traffic to other important parts of the Right to Live website.
