Gift Shop Sales Assistant - GRHVA

We are looking for a friendly face to join our retail team on a volunteer basis! Our giftshop is staffed fully by volunteers looking to make community impact by helping raise funds for patient care. Our goal is provide a meaningful shopping experience for guests, patients, and staff.

Shifts are 3.5 hours long, once a week, and training is provided.

About the GRHVA

The Grand River Hospital Volunteer Association (GRHVA) strives to provide an exceptional experience to the WHRN - Midtown Campus community through products, services, and financial contributions generated from our not-for-profit operations. We aim to do this through collaboration with our partners throughout WRHN - Midtown Campus and the Waterloo Region to build on existing services to enhance community experience.

Duties Include

• Greeting customers who enter the shop
• Assisting shoppers to find products they are looking for
• Accurately processing cash and card payments
• Reporting discrepancies and problems to the supervisor
• Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers
• Balancing cash registers with reciepts
• Providing an exceptional experience through sales, and refunds
• Ensuring a safe and secure environment by identifying fraudulent transactions and providing every customer attention to deter shoplifting
• Keeping up to date with special promotions and new products
