Fundraising Volunteer 12jun2025
Are you passionate about using your skills to help make Canadian cities more sustainable? Would you like to join a team with a clear focus and goals?
THE OPPORTUNITY
Biosphere Eco-Cities Canada (BECC) is seeking two new volunteers for its six-person fundraising team. Current members are keen and performing well. Yet, someone with broad fundraising experience would be a great asset. The current focus of the team is on obtaining funding for a youth climate action project to take place in five Canadian Cities. Funding of core costs is also being pursued.
BACKGROUND
A Biosphere Eco-City (BEC) is an urban-centred region where teams educate and engage people in activities to develop a culture of sustainability. BEC Canada (BECC) is a national charity that supports development of BECs in Ottawa, Toronto, Brampton, Edmonton, and Vancouver. ORGANIZATION OF THE FUNDRAISING TEAM
The Team is divided into sub-teams for Grants Research, Core Support, Partnerships, and Writing. The team normally meets monthly online and sub-teams may also meet separately. There is a strong link to the BECC Project Development Team.
THE COMMITMENT
Volunteers are expected to dedicate 3-4 hours per week, including team meetings. The time is flexible around other personal commitments.
If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please send your resume or questions to yann@BioEcoCity.org.
