Role Summary:
The Fundraising & Marketing Committee Chair leads and supports Terra Elysium Foundation’s efforts to secure funding from diverse sources, including grants, donations, and strategic partnerships. This role plays a central part in expanding the organization’s resource base to sustain current programs and support long-term growth.
In addition to co-developing fundraising strategies, the Fundraising & Marketing Chair advises on grant writing, donor outreach, fundraising platforms, and community-based giving. This role helps ensure that Terra Elysium has access to both restricted (project-based) and unrestricted (operational) funding, and supports the organization’s path toward long-term self-sufficiency.
On the marketing side of this committee chair role, it includes providing oversight and strategic direction for Terra’s marketing and communications efforts. The role supports cohesive storytelling and visibility across platforms, ensuring consistent branding, outreach alignment, and strong engagement with funders, partners, and the broader public. This includes advising on digital campaigns, communications strategies, and overall brand development in collaboration with Terra’s internal marketing and communications team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to align fundraising goals with organizational budgets and priorities
- Support the development and submission of grant applications and final reports
- Identify new fundraising opportunities, including capacity-building grants, sponsorships, and donor partnerships
- Assist with planning and optimizing online donation platforms (e.g., website integrations, nonprofit giving tools)
- Cultivate relationships with funders, grantors, and philanthropic partners to expand Terra’s funding network
- Advise on donor engagement strategies, stewardship, and campaign planning
- Work closely with the Grants Manager and Strategy and Growth Manager to ensure consistent and compelling fundraising narratives
- Provide updates to the board on fundraising progress, strategy adjustments, and emerging opportunities
- Provide strategic direction for Terra’s marketing and communications initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing Manager
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms (e.g., website, social media, print materials)
- Support the development of public-facing campaigns to promote programs, events, and fundraising efforts
- Work with the Growth and Strategy Manager and Communications Leads to align marketing efforts with organizational priorities and community engagement goals
- Advise on content strategy, digital outreach, and creative assets that enhance Terra’s visibility and impact
Collaboration & Support:
This role works closely with the Executive Director, Grants Manager, Marketing Manager, Growth and Strategy Manager, and Communications Leads. The Fundraising & Marketing Chair plays an active role in shaping Terra’s development strategies, outreach materials, and funding relationships. This role involves both strategic oversight and practical involvement in the execution of fundraising efforts to support the evolving needs of the organization and its team.
