Organization: Bros Before Lows (BBL) Foundation Location: Remote Job Type: Contract / Part-Time (Flexible hours, potential to scale into Full-Time)
About Bros Before Lows (BBL) Foundation
“Where Brotherhood Meets Purpose” The Bros Before Lows (BBL) Foundation is a federally incorporated not-for-profit established to directly combat the escalating male suicide crisis in Canada. We provide a low-barrier, high-impact "third space" that bridges the gap between peer-led isolation reduction and professional healthcare systems.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Fundraising & Development Manager to become the primary revenue driver for our foundation. As BBL scales from a successful local pilot into a national network, we have set aggressive funding targets: $50,000 for Horizon 1 and $225,000 for Horizon 2.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will bridge the gap between our powerful impact data and potential financial backers. If you are a persuasive storyteller who knows how to navigate government grants, cultivate corporate sponsors, and turn community goodwill into sustainable funding, we need you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Writing: Research, draft, and submit compelling applications for government, corporate, and private foundation grants.
- Donor Relations: Cultivate, manage, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic partners.
- Data-Driven Proposals: Collaborate directly with our Grant Data & Impact Analyst to weave BBL's wellness statistics into highly persuasive funding proposals.
- Event Monetization: Work alongside our Marketing, Events & Partnerships Lead to monetize community events (e.g., charity tournaments) and maximize donor retention.
- Financial Tracking: Track and allocate incoming funds to ensure they are spent in strict compliance with donor restrictions and organizational budgets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in not-for-profit fundraising, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
- Exceptional, persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing donor relationships and utilizing CRM software.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple grant deadlines simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, startup non-profit environment.
- Passion for men's mental health advocacy and an understanding of the male suicide crisis in Canada.
