Fundraising & Community Engagement Coordinator

Job Description

Seeking a candidate who has a strong proven fundraising background with exceptional interpersonal and public relation skills, and experience in successful grant writing and funding procurement. The person in this position reports to the Executive Director, leads the volunteer fundraising committees, and plays a significant role in any Capital projects.

TASK: To ensure that any Capital Campaign initiative does not negatively impact the stability and growth of operational funding.

Expectations:

  • Develop a marketing plan for the Forest project as an ongoing sustainable funding source for operations.
  • Support pipeline development and fundraising growth, through researching relevant funding sources and ongoing preparation and submission of grant proposals and community speaking engagements
  • Assume leadership of all special event fundraising projects.

TASK: To review and discuss all current significant donors and develop a donor strategy and engagement plan.

Expectations:

  • Review the history of each significant donor and record their particular focus of interest.
  • Continue the creation of a donor centred stewardship plan, connecting with established community Sunrise donors who have strong networking opportunities.
  • Conduct prospect research of individual, corporate and community partners.
  • Responsible for development and fundraising growth through ongoing engagement of established donors and continuous researching for new funding sources.

TASK: Work with the Capital Campaign team to develop the fundraising strategic direction

Expectations:

  • Support the development of a campaign fundraising plan and donor engagement strategy.
  • Work as a member of the designated Capital team for speaking engagements to community service clubs, prospective corporate donors, and individual entrepreneurs, with responsibility for scheduling ongoing presentations
  • Work with sector leaders to plan and strengthen community engagement.
  • Assist volunteers, board and Campaign Cabinet with cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation meetings.
  • Ensure donor confidentiality and adhering to fundraising code of ethics.
  • Ensure all stewardship activities are tracked in database.
  • Develop monthly reports to track and showcase fundraising progress and milestones to submit to the Sunrise Board of Directors and to the Capital Campaign Cabinet
  • Schedule presentations to Family Foundations and Corporations.

TASK: To Implement a Targeted Media Plan for both Operations and Capital projects

Expectations:

  • Work together with Campaign Advisory Chair and the Capital Fundraising Committee to determine the most impactful media sources.
  • Engage local media – print, radio, television, social media
  • Join with the Capital Campaign team for all significant virtual, in person and media presentations.

Other related duties as the need arises for both operating and capital programs and initiatives.

This position will include some evening and weekend work.
