Fundraising Committee Chair

The chair of the BFC Fundraising Committee is responsible for coordinating the operations of the fundraising committee and leading efforts to meet the annual fundraising target of approximately $750 K to meet the operating needs of the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.

Responsibilities:

• Chair, lead, and facilitate bi-weekly committee meetings including identifying action items, tracking progress and creating summary notes
• Set fundraising strategy
• Maintain a year long calendar of fundraising initiatives
• Recruit prospective committee members
• Maintain fundraising metrics
• Draft fundraising letters and solicit feedback
• Create, maintain, and award “Proud Supporter” window stickers as appropriate
• Speak at local businesses / community organization on the Barrhaven Food Cupboard
• Attend BFC Board monthly board meetings in person as required
• Attend cheque presentations

Experience Needed

• A working knowledge of the Barrhaven Food Cupboard, the growing demand for its services, and its clients’ needs (Not mandatory)
• Demonstrated fundraising experience
• Chairing committee meetings
• Creating Record of Decisions for committee meetings
