Volunteer Position Available: Fundraising and Donor Relations

Overall Duties

Qualifications and Requirements

Grief Stories is currently seeking a Fundraising and Donor Relations Volunteer to help expand our Operations Team.

The Fundraising and Donor Relations Volunteer is expected to engage in the following duties in collaboration with the Board Director of Partnerships/Fund Development and the Executive Director:

Assist in the implementation of Grief Stories’ Strategic Fundraising Master Plan in line with current Strategic Priorities Create internal and external resources for effective Fundraising campaigns in line with Fundraising Master Plan Increase the scope of the monthly donations program

Assist operations team in donor stewardship and relations such as sending thank you messages to donors Assist with the research of and applications for grants, sponsorships, and other funding opportunities aligned with Grief Stories’ mission Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in fundraising

Grief Stories is seeking a volunteer with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

Proven experience in fundraising, preferably within a charitable organization Strong understanding of fundraising strategies, including individual and corporate giving, and grant writing Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and potential supporters Ability to work remotely with secure internet connection Passion for Grief Stories’ mission and a commitment to supporting those grieving the loss of a loved one

Time Commitment

The time requirement is approximately 1-2 hours per week plus a one-hour monthly virtual Ops Team meeting.

Benefits

A comprehensive training/orientation package will be provided, as well as a one-on-one virtual meeting with the Executive Director to respond to any questions.
