Fundraiser – Role Overview
The fundraiser supports Planet Watch’s climate‑education mission by developing and coordinating strategies that grow financial support. The role blends relationship‑building, storytelling, grant writing, and community‑driven campaigns to build a sustainable base of donors and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Engagement — Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, community supporters, and partners through personalized outreach and stewardship.
- Grant Writing & Reporting — Research funding opportunities, prepare compelling proposals, manage reporting requirements, and maintain a clear pipeline of upcoming grant prospects.
- Crowdfunding Campaigns — Design and run small‑scale crowdfunding initiatives that mobilize community support and highlight Planet Watch’s impact stories.
- Campaign Development — Plan and execute seasonal fundraising campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, year‑end appeals, and program‑specific initiatives.
- Events & Community Outreach — Support or lead small fundraising events, virtual sessions, and community engagement activities that raise awareness and attract new supporters.
- Data & CRM Management — Track donor interactions, contributions, and communications; ensure accurate and timely data entry.
- Collaboration — Work closely with the President and volunteer teams to align fundraising messaging with program goals, visual identity, and educator outreach.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives.
- Must have experience in grant writing and/or crowdfunding, with demonstrated ability to secure support through one or both channels.
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit development, or related fields.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and relationships simultaneously.
- Knowledge of environmental education or climate issues is an asset.
- Collaborative, organized, and motivated by mission‑driven work.

- All positions in Planet Watch are voluntary.
- All candidates must speak English and reside in Canada.
