About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Funding & Finance Manager to guide our organization’s financial strategy and lead efforts in developing sustainable funding models for our projects. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who has spent years in the finance or development sector and is now looking to make a lasting social impact while shaping the financial future of a growing, purpose-driven organization.
This is a volunteer-based role to start, with the potential to transition into a paid position as the organization expands its funding portfolio.
What you will do
Develop and implement funding strategies for new and ongoing projects.
Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, investors, grant bodies, and strategic funding partners.
Design and evaluate financing models that align with the organization’s mission and sustainability goals.
Oversee project financing and budgeting processes to ensure transparency and accountability.
Advise leadership on financial planning, risk management, and long-term funding opportunities.
Support grant writing, proposals, and donor reporting in collaboration with the program team.
Mentor emerging team members and contribute to building an ethical and innovative financial culture within the organization.
What we are looking for
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in finance, funding, investment, or project management.
Proven experience in developing and managing funding strategies or complex financial portfolios.
Strong understanding of project financing models, donor relations, and non-profit or social enterprise funding.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with a collaborative and hands-on approach.
Commitment to ethical financial management and community-focused impact.
