
Fund Development Volunteer– Remote/Hybrid
Volunteer Location: Mostly Remote with occasional office day-155 Bermondsey Road
Hours: 10 to 20 hours per week

Impact Area: Community Engagement, Fundraising & Donor Stewardship
Role Description:
Women Build is a celebrated Habitat for Humanity GTA initiative that brings women together to empower one another, support affordable homeownership, and strengthen local communities. As a Fund Development Volunteer, you will play a key role in enhancing the Women Build experience and contributing to Habitat GTA’s mission by supporting both event preparation and participant engagement.
In this role, you will help source items for Women Build participant swag bags—an effort that elevates the event, enhances supporter recognition, and adds value to the donor and volunteer experience. Your support helps ensure a positive and engaging experience for all Women Build participants while strengthening Habitat GTA’s broader mission of building safe, decent, and affordable homes for families across the Greater Toronto Area.
What you need to know:
- An on-line orientation session is required before your first volunteer shift.
- All volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 require a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Position Responsibilities:
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Confidence with cold calling and donor outreach.
- Professional written communication skills.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a fund development, fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, or communications program would be an asset.
