Who We Are:

StepStones for Youth (www.stepstonesforyouth.com) is an innovative and dynamic charitable organization in Toronto dedicated to providing intervention and sustainable support for children and youth. Many of these youth are exiting the foster care and group home system or are currently living in foster homes and shelters. Our goal is to create positive and meaningful connections; increase overall school engagement, including high school graduation, and post-secondary enrolment; and increase stable housing, improved mental and physical health, and strong support networks. StepStones adheres to a "whatever it takes" approach to servicing youth. We go above and beyond to support their needs.

Your Impact as a Fund Development Officer

  • Annual Fundraising:
  • Manage a process of current qualified prospects and engaged donors (e.g., 75-100) in the annual gift range of upwards of $100K to ensure we strengthen their engagement opportunities.
  • Research and develop relationships with new prospects (e.g., 20 - 25) to move them through the full donor cycle: developing and executing an in-person cultivation and solicitation strategy, including planned giving, and preparing stewardship opportunities.
  • Grant Writing and Reporting: Lead the development of applications and completion of reports as required to secure funding, review all prepared grants and budgets, and ensure alignment with funding priorities and funder requests.
  • Stewardship: Engage in direct communication and stewardship activities, including thank-you cards, tax receipts, donor recognition, social media posts, facility tours, and consistent, timely information updates.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Lead comprehensive reporting for public and private stakeholders, including budgets, metrics, and financial statements for fundraising activities.
  • Data Management: Maintain donor records, input related activities and produce reports in the DonorPerfect CRM database, ensuring high data entry accuracy and timely record-keeping of donor interactions and contributions.
  • Events: In collaboration with fellow staff members, organize and execute donor stewardship and community engagement events, including booking vendors and venues and coordinating volunteers.

Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the organization's overall goals and fund development efforts.
