Position Summary
The Fund Development Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Lymphoma Canada’s fundraising strategy by supporting revenue growth across individual giving, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising initiatives.
This role is not primarily an event planning position. Rather, it is suited to a fundraising professional with experience in the charitable or nonprofit sector who understands donor engagement, stewardship, pipeline development, and revenue tracking.
Reporting to the National Director of Fund Development, the Coordinator will support the execution of strategic fundraising initiatives, manage donor relationships, assist in prospect research, and contribute to strengthening a diversified and sustainable fundraising program.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Development
- Support implementation of the organization’s annual fund development plan.
- Contribute to revenue growth strategies across individual giving, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising.
- Assist in identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective donors and sponsors.
- Support cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to deepen donor engagement.
- Monitor fundraising performance against targets and contribute to forecasting and revenue reporting.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Manage a portfolio of donors and sponsors, ensuring timely stewardship and meaningful engagement.
- Coordinate donor recognition activities, impact reporting, and stewardship communications.
- Prepare tailored proposals, sponsorship packages, and follow-up materials.
- Maintain regular and proactive communication with donors and partners.
Campaign & Appeals Management
- Support the execution of annual giving campaigns, peer-to-peer initiatives, and direct mail appeals.
- Collaborate with the Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager to develop compelling donor messaging.
- Assist in building and managing online fundraising pages and digital campaigns.
- Track campaign performance and analyze results to inform future strategy.
Corporate & Community Engagement
- Support development and stewardship of corporate partnerships, including sponsorship and employee engagement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for workplace giving, matching gift programs, and cause marketing partnerships.
- Provide strategic support for third-party and community fundraising initiatives (with limited logistical execution).
Volunteer Engagement & Fund Development Support
- Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers engaged in fundraising initiatives, including peer-to-peer fundraisers, event committees, and community ambassadors.
- Provide guidance, tools, and fundraising best practices to empower volunteers to achieve revenue goals.
- Develop volunteer toolkits, messaging templates, and fundraising resources aligned with organizational standards.
- Monitor volunteer-led fundraising performance and provide coaching to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure volunteers are properly stewarded, recognized, and retained as part of the organization’s broader donor engagement strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities where volunteers can enhance fundraising capacity and community reach.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and track engagement metrics within the donor database where applicable.
Database Management & Reporting
- Ensure timely processing of donations, tax receipting, and donor acknowledgements.
- Generate donor reports, revenue reports, and campaign performance summaries.
- Uphold best practices in data integrity and donor privacy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in fundraising within the charitable or nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated experience supporting revenue-generating initiatives (annual fund, corporate partnerships, major gifts, or peer-to-peer fundraising).
- Experience managing donor relationships and stewardship activities.
- Experience working with fundraising databases (Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and donor lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns.
