The Opportunity

The Langley School District Foundation (LSDF) is a registered charity dedicated to ensuring education is accessible and meaningful for all students in the Langley School District. Through community partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and donor stewardship, the Foundation supports students in overcoming barriers related to food insecurity, mental health, literacy, and post-secondary access.

As a small and growing organization, LSDF is seeking a Fund Development Coordinator who enjoys relationship-based fundraising, is comfortable with prospect outreach, and brings a high level of organization and follow-through to their work. This role is well-suited to someone who is energized by connecting with people, asking for support, and tracking opportunities through to completion.

The Fund Development Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and plays a lead role in growing Foundation revenue through sponsorship acquisition, scholarship development, and campaign-based fundraising.

SCHEDULE:

Schedule: Year-round position with a school-year–aligned schedule.

September–June: Four days per week
July–August: Reduced schedule of two days per week

HOURS:

Approximately 1,400 hours / 27 hours a week on average.

COMPENSATION:

$46,469 annually (based on approximately $33/hour) + benefits, vacation and personal days

ANTICIPATED START DATE:

ASAP

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Evening or weekend work may be required during peak fundraising periods or events

Position Summary

The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for actively growing Foundation revenue through relationship-based fundraising and partnership development. This role plays in identifying, cultivating, and securing corporate sponsors and scholarship donors, while also coordinating and executing campaign-based fundraising initiatives.

Success in this role requires a balance of strong interpersonal skills and excellent organization and attention to detail. The Coordinator must be comfortable managing multiple prospects, deadlines, and deliverables simultaneously, and tracking work independently to ensure consistent follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Sponsorship Acquisition & Partnership Development

Identify, prospect, cultivate, and secure corporate sponsors for Foundation initiatives and fundraising campaigns

Build and maintain authentic relationships with community partners, donors, and sponsors

Develop sponsorship proposals and presentations in collaboration with the Executive Director

Maintain accurate records of sponsor outreach, commitments, timelines, and fulfillment requirements

Support stewardship and renewal of sponsors through timely follow-up and relationship management

Scholarship Development & Donor Relationships

Identify and cultivate potential scholarship donors and community partners

Support the development and stewardship of new and existing scholarship relationships

Work collaboratively with the Scholarship Program Coordinator to align donor intent with student need

Track scholarship commitments, documentation, and follow-through

Campaign-Based Fundraising

Coordinate the planning and delivery of Foundation-led fundraising initiatives, including The Lucky Langley 50/50 fundraisers.

Track and report on fundraising outcomes to inform planning and improvement 

Third-Party & School-Based Fundraising Support

Support relationships with third-party event organizers and school fundraising partners (PACs, Dry Grad Committees, etc.)

Provide guidance on Foundation processes, branding, and reporting requirements

Track third-party fundraising activity and outcomes

Core Competencies

2+ years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, or relationship-based roles

Demonstrated comfort with outreach, relationship-building, and asking for support

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, deadlines, and deliverables concurrently

Proven ability to track work independently and follow through consistently

Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team

Passion for the mission and values of the Langley School District Foundation
