PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/CRITICAL TASKS:

The following key operational duties reflect the core responsibilities of the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as needed:

  • Manage accounts payable and cheque issues for three funds
  • Sort and process source documents; verify supporting data; calculate and reconcile invoices; identify discrepancies; make appropriate adjustments; assign appropriate accounts codes
  • Assist in the preparation of various financial reconciliations and invoice creation for cost-share programs
  • Administer per capita remittances from Locals
  • Maintain financial record filing
  • Support the preparation of year-end working papers
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bookkeeping skills with a minimum of two years of experience; working toward a CPA designation is an asset
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to take direction while working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully within a team of Administrative Assistants, an Accountant, the Director of Finance, the Executive Director, and two elected officers
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and scheduling skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years’ experience working within a union environment or similar
  • Minimum one to two years’ experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Report generation utilizing Excel.

Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the MoveUP CUPE BC and Locals collective agreement for a bookkeeper at $53.39.
