Volunteer Opportunity: Board Member - Friends of the Midland Public Library

The Friends of the Midland Public Library is seeking a Volunteer to join our Board**. This is a rewarding opportunity to support your local library while contributing your skills to a community-focused, inclusive organization.

About Us:

The Friends of the Midland Public Library is a volunteer-led group dedicated to supporting the Midland Public Library, and their programs, services, and initiatives that enrich our community. We work collaboratively to advocate for the library and raise funds that help it thrive.

About the Role:

As a general board member, you will play a key role in helping the Friends achieve our goals in support of the Midland Public Library. You’ll work closely with fellow board members and library staff to support our mission and have opportunities to engage with the broader Midland community.

Ideal Candidate:

Is organized, reliable, and comfortable working with others
Has a passion for libraries, literacy, and community engagement
Enjoys working collaboratively with a friendly, inclusive board
Previous board or nonprofit experience is an asset, but not required
Lives in the Midland, Tiny, Tay area or willing / able to commute to Midland.

Time Commitment

Approximately 1-1.5 hours per month + volunteer events
Board meetings are held monthly
