Volunteer Role: Basic French Instructor
Location: The Salvation Army Toronto Harbour Light – 160 Jarvis Street, Toronto
Time Commitment: Every Friday, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (in-person)

Role Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and supportive volunteer to lead a Basic French class for community members who want to learn conversational French. This program introduces participants to foundational vocabulary, phrases, and cultural context, helping them build confidence in speaking and understanding French.

Responsibilities:

Lead a beginner-level French class with a focus on everyday vocabulary and conversational skills.

Plan and deliver engaging, interactive lessons suitable for adult learners.

Foster a supportive and welcoming learning environment for participants of all backgrounds.

Encourage participation through activities, role-play, and practice dialogues.

Adapt lessons to accommodate different learning styles and paces.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in French (native speaker or advanced fluency).

Clear and patient communication skills in both French and English.

Previous teaching, tutoring, or group facilitation experience (an asset but not required).

Enthusiasm for language learning and supporting community members.
