Focus on Nature seeks Volunteer Board of Directors and Committee Members!
Focus on Nature is a registered charity operating in Ontario that inspires young people to explore and connect with nature through photography. We conduct workshops in schools and day camps in the summer and during March Break. We envision a world where our connections to nature create a healthy, flourishing planet.
Focus on Nature is recruiting new board and committee members to complement the strengths of our small but mighty board. We are a working board that currently meets monthly (with a break in the summer), typically the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday of the month, from 6:30-8:30pm. We meet virtually. We are a friendly, supportive and passionate board. Prior experience on a board is not required. This can be a great opportunity to develop new skills as well as contribute your own expertise to shape a small but impactful organization. Directors are typically recruiting for terms of 2 years at a time, with a maximum term limit of 6 years.
For anyone interested in joining the board of Focus on Nature, we are happy to meet with individuals to explore their interests. For those who are still interested the next step would be to participate in some board meetings to see how we operate and determine if it is a good fit. If you are interested in being involved, without becoming a board member, we are always happy to find people to join our committees (e.g. Program Committee, Marketing and Fund Development Committee, Finance Committee, etc.). The time commitment for committees varies, but most don’t meet more often than once a month and all meet virtually.
