Position Overview:
The Finance Officer supports OCCSC’s financial operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with CRA regulations and funder requirements. This position is ideal for a finance professional who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and looking for career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Manage grant and funder financial reporting.
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with charitable regulations.
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration.
- Support staff in financial procedures and budget monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or in progress) preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of financial management experience (non-profit experience preferred).
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software; strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of CRA requirements for registered charities.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to OCCSC’s mission and values.
Assets:
- Experience with government grant financial reporting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience ($53,000–$63,000 per year).

- Work Location: Hybrid remote, based in Ottawa, ON (K2P 2H8).
