
Finance Manager
The Finance Manager oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the organization while providing leadership, guidance, and support to finance staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic financial planning with hands-on operational leadership.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support the finance team while overseeing day-to-day financial operations.
- Coordinate budgeting activities and participate in the development of the Nation's annual organizational budget.
- Prepare and oversee accurate financial reporting, financial statements, and budget monitoring processes.
- Review financial performance and provide analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Support month-end accounting activities, budget reviews, and transactional processes.
- Contribute to financial planning and support the implementation of organizational programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to support employee benefits administration and reporting.
- Develop department work plans and monitor performance objectives for supervised positions.
- Support policy review, operational analysis, and management-level decision-making processes.
- Prepare contracts, reports, correspondence, and other business documentation.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of communications, information technology, and human resources structures.
- Conduct research, analysis, and special projects as required.
What You bring:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Interest in pursuing a CPA designation (preferred).
- A minimum of two years of management experience within a First Nations organization.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and financial administration.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles and business operations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adagio, and financial information systems.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
