
Finance Manager
The John McGivney Children's Centre provides paediatric therapy services in the Windsor-Essex County community, enriching and celebrating the lives of children and youth with disabilities to help abilities grow, by providing child-focused, family-centred care. Summary of the Role:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger)
- Supervise accounting and payroll staff
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis
- Prepare the annual operating budget, in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services
- Prepare financial projections, staffing proposals and business plans
- Submit financial and statistical reports in prescribed formats
- Coordinate the annual audit
- Develop, implement and maintain departmental policies and procedures related to the accounting and administration of the Finance and Administration Office
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or related field
- Professional designation of CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial information preparation and analysis in a computerized environment.
- Experience in the not-for-profit/public sector, is considered an asset
- Proficiency with the interactions of organization systems and department workflow (i.e. payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, inventory and fixed assets)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization
- Experience supervising/managing employees
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software applications.
- Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- The candidate must be available to work flexible hours as required
- French Language Proficiency is an asset.
