
Finance Director
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
The Finance Director will lead the day-to-day financial management of Kootenay Family Place an accredited, registered Non-profit Organization with charitable status with a mission to serve the needs of children, youth, and families throughout the West Kootenay Boundary region. You will join a committed leadership team focused on delivering high quality services for families in our region. WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a member of the KFP Executive Management Team, reporting to the Executive Director, you will:
- Lead and oversee the full-cycle accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Produce accurate financial statements, budgets, cash flow projections, and reports for management, board, funders, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on financial performance, recommending improvements and strategic actions as needed.
- Manage statutory filings, year-end processes, audit preparation, and related documentation.
- Analyze complex transactions, including leases, amortization, and major asset acquisitions, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support strategic planning and provide expert advice on financial matters to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Continuously review and improve accounting practices and financial systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA designation.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
