Unpaid Volunteer Position
Feed The City is recruiting a passionate and qualified candidate to join the Board of Directors.

We are particularly seeking candidates with experience in fundraising and start-up NFP/Charity events.

Mission: Feed The City provides “last-mile” delivery from local community food banks to community members unable to physically get to their local food bank. This includes seniors, people with limited mobility, illness, single parents, and many others who rely on Feed The City for essential food. We are a registered charity that is growing leaps and bounds!

Board Member Role: We are actively seeking 1 new Director that will focus on fundraising and networking. Additionally, helping to ensure that Feed The City establishes strategic priorities and maintains the trust of the community and volunteers, by being clear in its mission, prudent and ethical in its activities, and accountable for its actions.

Remuneration: Service on Feed The City’s Board of Directors is without remuneration

Time Commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per month

Responsibilities
  • Committed to the mission and work of Feed The City
  • Prepare for, attend and participate in monthly board meetings (and other meetings as required)
  • Foster a positive working relationship with other Board members and Feed The City Executive Director
  • Actively participate in fundraising, evaluation and planning efforts
General Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated fundraising abilities (able to organize and lead events, other fundraising initiatives)
  • Demonstrated leadership in philanthropy, community service, business, or the NFP sector
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Strong communicator
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for food security and equity
  • Knowledge of board or organizational governance, particularly in relation to policy and strategic oversight
