Help Build a Canada Without Homelessness

At the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH), we believe homelessness is solvable. We work alongside communities, governments, frontline organizations, and people with lived expertise to help build housing-focused systems that measurably reduce homelessness across Canada.

CAEH is evolving. We are a modern social impact organization that combines systems change, advisory services, data, policy, learning, coaching, and innovation to create lasting impact at scale.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Outcomes-focused
  • Collaborative and adaptable
  • Energized by meaningful work
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and change
  • Curious, thoughtful, and action-oriented
  • Motivated by building better systems and stronger communities

If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

The Faith Network Coordinator is a dynamic, entrepreneurial minded leader who serves to build and strengthen Canada’s Faith Network, a group of faith-based organizations committed to ending homelessness. This role has a unique dual accountability structure; reporting to the Senior Director of Public Affairs and Development for operational/HR matters while being accountable to the Faith Network Steering Committee to set strategic direction, approve workplans, deliverables and evaluate outcomes.

The position mobilizes and supports faith communities to organize their work in ending homelessness across Canada. The role leads the development of a Tool Kit to help faith communities strengthen a cohesive local response to ending homelessness, such as leveraging faith-owned land and assets for housing solutions.

This position coordinates communications and activities that educate, equip, and empower faith communities to move from purely charitable responses toward justice-focused, systems-level action, while ensuring the meaningful inclusion of people with lived experience in faith community engagement, policy discussions, and public dialogue.

The Faith Network Coordinator provides leadership and administrative support for the network's growth, supports fund development, and advances the Faith Network as an Allied Network of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tool Kit Development
  • Develop a Tool Kit to assist faith communities in contributing to the improvement of local homelessness systems, programs, and projects, such as how to leverage land assets held by faith communities in service of ending homelessness.
  • Community Education and Empowerment
  • Coordinate communications and activities that educate, equip, and empower faith communities to evolve from purely charitable responses toward justice-focused, systems-level transformative action. This includes supporting awareness and educational initiatives about homelessness for faith communities, facilitating the exchange of good practices, and collecting and disseminating resources on homelessness and housing insecurity.
  • Advocacy and Engagement
  • Coordinate communications and activities that educate, equip, and empower faith communities toward effective engagement in advocacy to end homelessness.
  • Lived Experience Inclusion
  • Support, identify, and implement meaningful engagement with the voices and ideas of people with lived experience of homelessness and housing insecurity in faith communities, policy discussions, and public events.
  • Conference and Network Coordination
  • Coordinate Faith Network meetings, including agenda, minutes, and follow up.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of new Faith Network members and faith community partners.
  • Acts as the primary representative and liaison to the Faith Network.
  • Track and report on specific Grant Agreement outcomes as required by funding agreements.
  • Coordinate Faith Network presence and engagement activities at the National Conference on Ending Homelessness and other forums.
  • Network Leadership and Administration
  • Provide leadership for the growth and development of the Faith Network, including ongoing administration and logistical support.
  • Manage network membership, communication infrastructure, and record-keeping to support a functioning Allied Network.
  • Fund Development Support
  • Support the execution of the Faith Network’s fund development plan, including contributing to grant applications, funder stewardship, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the identification and cultivation of prospective funders and philanthropic partners with an interest in supporting the Faith Network’s initiatives in ending homelessness.
  • Participate in all aspects of the stewardship cycle as appropriate, from prospecting to reporting.
  • Embody a culture of philanthropy and ensure all fund development activities are aligned with the Faith Network’s and CAEH’s values, vision, and mission.

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted relationships within a multi-faith context.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with credibility to both faith-inspired and secular audiences.

  • Comfortable representing a multi-faith network with diverse faith perspectives.
  • Proficiency with digital tools for communication and collaboration (e.g., CRM, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, web design).
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, networked environment.
  • Experience in fund development, grant writing, or donor stewardship, particularly within a non-profit or faith-based context.
