CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals is committed to cultivating a pool of young Black professionals who will positively impact the Canadian economy. Our mandate is workforce development for Black youth aged 18-29 years old who are furthest from the labour market. Through strategically curated programming, CEE is addressing widening labour gaps and creating viable pathways to employment for Black youth. Our programs are holistic, person-centered, and culturally relevant to offer dedicated social supports, such as access to psychotherapy and hardship aid, alongside relevant and engaging workforce development to advance their lives, education, career options and job readiness.

Our programming is purposeful in its aim to reduce the multiple barriers to employment faced by Black youth and to empower our members toward the realization of progressive, upwardly mobile, and longstanding achievement. The experience at CEE ignites the innate brilliance of Black youth and helps them reimagine their identities and reframe the narratives of their futures to break cycles of trauma, poverty, and violence. Purpose

Under the direction of the Industry Liaison, the Facilitator works as part of an integrated team to deliver program facilitation, participant engagement, and foundational social support to current members and alumni of CEE programs. The role supports members’ professional, personal, and emotional development through structured workshops, one‑to‑one check‑ins, and coordinated referrals, ensuring participants are supported to meaningfully engage in and successfully complete their programs. The Facilitator serves as a consistent and trusted point of contact for members and collaborates closely with internal teams and external service providers to promote retention, participation, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Delivery & Facilitation

• Participate in participant interviews, onboarding, and intake activities in collaboration with the Community Engagement & Intake Worker and program team.
• Support participant onboarding and transition into programs by conducting initial check‑ins and holistic needs identification using a person‑centred, trauma‑informed approach.
• Complete psychosocial assessments by identifying social, emotional, and environmental factors impacting participation and engagement, and documenting needs appropriately.
• Provide mandatory coaching and wellness check‑ins to support participant retention, engagement, and goal progression throughout the program lifecycle.
• Deliver structured non‑clinical coaching and psychosocial support, including emotional regulation, life skills, and problem‑solving, while operating within established scope of practice.
• Identify participants requiring clinical or specialized mental health support and facilitate timely referrals to CEE’s contracted Clinical Counsellor or appropriate external providers in accordance with protocols.
• Coordinate and support person‑centred wrap‑around services, including system navigation and referrals related to food insecurity, housing instability, immigration, legal supports, mental and physical health services, family dynamics, and life stabilization needs.
• Facilitate workshops and other wellness‑focused programming that promotes self‑care, resilience, and holistic well‑being.
• Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and referral records to support continuity of care, internal coordination, funding, and compliance requirements.

Participant Support & Engagement

• Build strong, supportive relationships with program participants and serve as a daily point of contact.
• Provide individual check‑ins to identify barriers to participation, attendance concerns, and emerging support needs.
• Monitor member engagement, attendance, and progress, escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Identify participants who may require clinical or specialized psychosocial support and facilitate timely referrals to CEE’s contracted Clinical Counsellor or appropriate external service providers, in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice.

Coordination & Referrals

• Coordinate referrals to internal and external service providers when appropriate.
• Maintain relationships with community agencies and support providers to enhance participant access to services.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management

• Maintain accurate and timely participant records, case notes, and session summaries.
• Track member progress, challenges, and outcomes using Salesforce and internal systems.
• Prepare regular reports to support internal monitoring, funding, and compliance requirements.

Collaboration & Team Participation

• Work closely with Industry Liaisons, the Community Engagement & Intake Worker, and the Events & Operations Coordinator to ensure coordinated service delivery.
• Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of program delivery and participant experience.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

Education and Experience 

• Minimum of post‑secondary education in social work, psychology, education, community development, or a related field.
• Being a member of, and in good standing with OCSW & SSW is an asset
• Minimum of  2 years’ experience in program facilitation, youth engagement, social services, or workforce development.
• Experience working with Black youth and communities through culturally responsive and anti‑oppressive approaches.
• Some experience working with participants with mental health and/or sub- stance use. 

Core Competencies Required:

• Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentorship skills.
• Lived experience in or strong understanding of and ability to navigate the criminal justice system
• Strong capacity to develop authentic, impactful relationships with youth and families involved in or impacted by the criminal justice system
• Ability to support individuals experiencing barriers related to mental health, trauma, or systemic inequities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow‑through.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Zoom, and related digital tools.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention. 
• Valid driver's license. 
• Personal commitment to the values and mission of CEE 

Department: Programs

Salary Range:  $50,000 - $60,000

Reports to:  Director of Programs & Community Services

Position: Full-Time (Occasional evenings and weekends)
