A Strategic Leadership Role with Purpose

Defend Dignity is seeking a high-capacity Executive Director to lead the organization’s next chapter of growth and influence. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role combines fundraising, strategic leadership, and advocacy expertise to guide and grow Defend Dignity’s reach, reputation, and partnerships across Canada. This opportunity is for a leader who pairs a deep commitment to ending sexual exploitation with the ability to mobilize people and ideas.

As the organization’s senior leader, you will shape mission, strategy, and governance while staying closely engaged in execution. This is a role for a leader who thrives on both vision and action, someone who can think broadly, plan strategically, and turn ideas into results.

A key focus of this role will be Defend Dignity’s fundraising, awareness, and advocacy work, building a sustainable foundation for impact. In this capacity, you will cultivate donor and foundation relationships, secure grants, and lead creative campaigns that expand Defend Dignity’s reach and long-term sustainability.

Another priority of this role is to elevate advocacy and awareness efforts by strengthening partnerships with government, denominational, and community leaders to advance policy change and deepen public understanding of sexual exploitation. This includes shaping advocacy strategies, representing the organization publicly, and ensuring that Defend Dignity’s voice remains credible, compassionate, and unwavering in its call for systemic change.

As the senior leader of a small, remote, high-performing team, you’ll foster a culture that values trust, initiative, and results, coaching and developing staff to ensure alignment with organizational priorities while partnering closely with the Board on governance, risk, and long-term planning.

This is a role for a leader who brings vision, skill, and drive to a cause that demands both courage and clarity, shaping strategies that become movements and ideas that become action.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of the following skills, experience, education, and personal attributes:

  • Proven leadership in non-profit, advocacy, or social impact settings, with experience leading through growth or change.
  • Relevant education and training in leadership, public administration, social services, or a related discipline.
  • Deep understanding of sexual exploitation issues in Canada, with the ability to influence awareness, legislation, and systems change.
  • Strong fundraising and development expertise, including the ability to cultivate donor relationships, secure grants, and design creative campaigns that strengthen financial sustainability.
  • Strategic and operational capability to set direction, align resources, and deliver results in both short- and long-term initiatives.
  • Financial stewardship and accountability, with experience managing budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and using data to inform decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, able to credibly engage diverse audiences, including employees, donors, partners, government, churches, and the public.
  • Team and culture leadership, with the ability to coach and motivate high-performing teams, foster collaboration, and model integrity and resilience.

Compensation and Other Information

This is a full-time position, offering a salary range of $90,000–$98,000 per year, commensurate with skills, experience, and leadership capacity. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

While fully remote within Canada, this role requires travel approximately 4-6 weeks per year for meetings, events, and national engagement.

This role offers meaningful challenge, opportunity to grow, and the chance to shape an organization with national reach and lasting influence. The successful candidate will be aligned with Defend Dignity’s Christian identity and, given the sensitive nature of the organization’s work and partnerships, will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to hire.
