The KidsAbility Foundation raises public awareness and financial support from our community in partnership with KidsAbility Centre for Child Development to empower children and youth with disabilities to realize their potential. The Board of the KidsAbility Foundation is recruiting for a new Executive Director.
Reporting to, and working with, the Foundation Board of Directors, the Executive Director is directly responsible for the Foundation’s fundraising activities, day-to-day operations and management of the organization.
As Executive Director, you’ll have the unique opportunity to advance KidsAbility Foundation’s mission of transforming the lives of children and youth with disabilities. You’ll shape both operational and fundraising strategy, grow programs and partnerships, and introduce innovative approaches to maximize impact. Leading a talented, mission-driven team, you’ll foster a culture of collaboration, development, and innovation, while serving as the public face of the Foundation, strengthening relationships with donors, volunteers, and the community to expand the Foundation’s reach and reputation for excellence.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Significant non-profit leadership experience with demonstrated ability as an operational leader who can lead and motivate a team to achieve innovative and strategic fundraising goals. Specifically, a leader who can navigate strategy, systems, finance, people management, fundraising and external relationships. This role is not purely operational or “hands-on”; it involves governance, planning, and scaling.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations including major gifts, planned giving and annual campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people in a variety of levels and types of organizations, including with key stakeholders and senior leaders.
- A proven track record of growing revenue and scaling an organization’s continued development.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to be a strong storyteller that supports aligning outcomes for donor dollars.
- A leader with executive presence who balances vision and execution. Ability to navigate the challenges in a calming way.
- Strong financial acumen with a strategic understanding.
- Experience working with not-for-profit boards at a leadership level.
- Embraces calculated growth and welcomes opportunity.
- A desire to make a long-term commitment to making an impact.
Assets
- Experience in government relations and advocacy related to fundraising or community engagement.
Education
- Degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or other relevant discipline).
- CFRE designation or equivalent is an asset.
What the KidsAbility Foundation offers:
- Annualized compensation of $135,000 to $180,000
- Vacation– 4 weeks to start
