Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director ensures the delivery of high quality programs, financial sustainability, and strong community partnerships.
This role requires a forward thinking and hands on leader who can integrate operational excellence, technology, and human centered community services to drive meaningful and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Technology and Innovation Leadership
• Lead the integration of technology across all areas of the organization to improve efficiency, reporting, and service delivery
• Oversee systems related to data management, communication platforms, and organizational infrastructure
• Identify opportunities for digital transformation to enhance program delivery and administrative effectiveness
• Ensure proper oversight of IT resources, vendor relationships, and cost effective technology solutions
Leadership and Strategy
• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the mission, vision, and long term sustainability of the organization
• Develop and execute short term and long term strategic plans in collaboration with the Board
• Build a culture rooted in accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
• Align organizational priorities with measurable outcomes and community impact
Operations Management
• Oversee daily operations including programs, staffing, and facilities
• Ensure strong policies, procedures, and risk management practices are implemented and maintained
• Monitor program performance with a focus on quality, accessibility, and outcomes for youth and families
• Drive operational consistency and service excellence across all departments
Financial Oversight
• Lead budgeting, financial planning, and reporting with a high level of accuracy and transparency
• Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and responsible stewardship of resources
• Support and expand fundraising efforts including grants, partnerships, and donor engagement
• Identify innovative revenue opportunities to strengthen long term sustainability
Human Resources and Workplace Culture
• Recruit, lead, and develop a high performing team of staff and volunteers
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture
• Oversee performance management, training, and professional development
• Strengthen employee engagement and retention through clear leadership and support
Community Engagement and Social Impact
• Champion a strong social work approach that prioritizes the needs of children, youth, and families
• Ensure programs are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse community needs
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funders
• Serve as a visible and trusted ambassador for the organization in the community
Board Relations and Governance
• Work closely with the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic priorities
• Provide regular, clear, and data informed updates on organizational performance
• Ensure alignment between Board direction and operational execution
• Support transparency, accountability, and effective decision making
Qualifications
• Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit, community, or related sector
• Strong financial management, budgeting, and reporting expertise
• Experience in fundraising, grant development, and stakeholder engagement
• Demonstrated experience integrating technology into operations or service delivery
• Strong understanding of community based programming and youth development
• Background or strong alignment with social work principles, community services, or human services
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship building skills
• Post secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
