Location: Woodstock, Ontario (Oxford County presence preferred)
Hours: 35 hours per week (negotiable)
Compensation: $50–$65 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Position Type: Permanent (subject to probation)

With $4.6 million in assets, OCF has granted more than $2.2 million to 150 local charities across arts, culture, heritage, education, environment, recreation, health, wellness, and social services. OCF is one of 208 members of Community Foundations of Canada, working collectively to strengthen communities nationwide.

The Opportunity

OCF is seeking a relationship-driven, strategic, and community-minded Executive Director to lead the Foundation into its next phase of growth and impact. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director advances OCF’s mission by strengthening governance, growing charitable assets, stewarding donors, overseeing impactful grantmaking, and building partnerships that enhance quality of life across Oxford County.

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about community, confident working with a volunteer Board, and energized by building partnerships, stewarding donors, and growing local philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities

The Executive Director serves as OCF’s lead ambassador and chief steward. They:

  • Build strong relationships with donors, professional advisors, and community partners.
  • Grow assets through fund development, planned and estate giving, and thoughtful stewardship practices.
  • Oversee responsive, policy-aligned grantmaking that reflects donor intent and evolving community needs.
  • Support strong governance and work closely with the Board Chair to ensure effective, strategic board leadership.
  • Ensure financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and responsible oversight of investments and endowed assets.
  • Lead day-to-day operations, staff management, and administration with integrity and accountability.
  • Advance and implement the strategic plan, positioning OCF for sustainable growth and long-term community impact.

The successful candidate will be both relationship-builder and strategist — committed to strengthening local philanthropy and ensuring lasting impact for generations to come.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The successful candidate will be:

  • A proven leader with 7-10 years of progressive experience ideally in the nonprofit, charitable, or community development sector, able to inspire teams and guide organizational growth
  • Passionate about community, committed to making Oxford County better for all through meaningful engagement, partnerships, and impactful programs
  • An exceptional communicator and relationship-builder, skilled at engaging donors, board members, partners, and the wider community
  • Experienced in fundraising, donor stewardship, and planned giving
  • Strategically minded, with experience working effectively with a governance Board, including strategic planning, policy development, and accountability reporting.
  • Well-versed in philanthropy, and grantmaking, able to leverage best practices and partnerships to maximize impact
  • Financially capable, with experience in budgeting, reporting, and overseeing organizational finances
