EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Employment Type:

Independent Contractor (approximately 20-25 hours per week)

Location:

Calgary, Alberta (applicant must reside in Calgary)

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

The Kahanoff Centre is a unique community asset that offers affordable office and meeting space to charitable and non-profit organizations. Located in Mohkinstis, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, our mantra is Community Building and our Kahanoff Centre tenant partners are leading organizations, bringing their missions to life each day. Attractively positioned in Calgary’s Beltline – and in close proximity to downtown Calgary, the Victoria Park/Stampede LRT Station, and numerous nearby amenities - the Kahanoff Centre is a Class A 12-storey, two tower property.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be accountable for the management of the Kahanoff Centre for Charitable Activities (KCCA), with an aim to create and enhance an environment in which Calgary non-profit organizations can operate in stable, affordable, mission-enhancing, collaborative workspaces and have on-site access to cost-effective amenities.

Integral to this ongoing objective is a focus on the financial position in the short and long-term, while striving to achieve the organization’s vision of “amazing spaces, thriving amenities and quality shared services” for the non- profit community.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Providing leadership and vision to the work of KCCA.
  • Working with our leasing agent to identify potential tenants and retain existing tenants to lease suites and individual offices in the KHUB, our co-working space.
  • Establishing strong positive relationships with all KCCA tenants.
  • Developing and maintaining a marketing program supported by regular programming, networking, and knowledge-sharing events.
  • Taking the initiative to identify, research, and seek opportunities to implement the strategic direction set by the Board.
  • Providing information on internal and external issues affecting KCCA.
  • Developing and implementing operational plans, policies, and goals that further the strategic objectives.
  • Working collaboratively with the Property Manager to develop long-term maintenance and capital spending plans and annual budgets.
  • Acting as the chief representative, spokesperson and ambassador of the organization to all external constituencies, including community partners and media.

  • Efficient collaboration with the Property Manager for smooth day-to-day operations and capital planning.
  • High tenant satisfaction as demonstrated through positive survey results and responsive service improvements.
  • A thriving, collaborative tenant community.
