St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation is a charitable organization committed to raising funds to support the mission of St. Peter’s Seminary, a Catholic institution of higher education founded in 1912, responsible for the education and formation of Catholic clergy and lay leaders in Canada.
Through comprehensive theological education and formation, St. Peter’s Seminary prepares future priests, deacons, lay ministers, educators and spiritual leaders who strengthen the Church and transform lives through faith-based service. St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation provides financial support for students, programs, and facilities, preserving the Seminary’s heritage and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation seeks a visionary leader to advance its critical mission. The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors. This position requires a visionary leader who delivers operational excellence and strategic direction.
The ED serves as the Foundation’s chief executive officer, overseeing and managing all aspects of fundraising, strategic planning, donor relations, and operational management. The ED collaborates with the Board of Directors, Seminary leadership, donors, and other partners to promote the Foundation’s mission and secure financial resources to support St. Peter’s Seminary.
The ED will personally manage an active portfolio of key donor and prospective donor relationships, focusing on securing principal, major and legacy gifts by cultivating meaningful relationships and tailored engagement strategies.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished and mission-driven leader with extensive executive experience in nonprofit or faith-based organizations. A visionary and results-oriented strategist, they bring proven success in guiding organizations through transitions and change, while ensuring strong operational and financial management. With expertise spanning strategic planning, fundraising, donor relations, and stakeholder engagement, they excel at developing and executing ambitious strategies that drive measurable impact. Skilled in building and leading high-performing teams, they are equally adept at mentoring staff, fostering collaboration, and empowering colleagues to achieve excellence. Collaborative and inclusive, the successful candidate thrives in working with boards, volunteers, faculty, alumni, and donors, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of St. Peter’s Seminary and its Foundation.
An inspiring communicator and fundraiser, the ideal candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of the Catholic Church’s philanthropic culture and has a strong record of securing major gifts and leading capital campaigns. They are adept at cultivating trust-based relationships and stewarding donors across generations, leveraging analytics and innovative tools to refine strategies and track progress. Guided by integrity, sound judgment, and the highest ethical standards, the ideal candidate brings a strong sense of initiative, adaptability, and creativity to every challenge.
