Executive Director
MAiDHouse is a project of the Assisted-Dying Resource Centres Canada (ARCC), a Canadian, national, not-for-profit corporation and registered charity.
The MAiDHouse mission is to provide a comfortable and compassionate end-of-life experience to persons eligible to receive medical assistance in dying (MAiD), when their home is not an option. Those eligible to receive MAiD are able to access their provision with their own provider in a safe, reliable and comfortable space. The first of its kind in North America, the inaugural MAiDHouse location is in Toronto, Ontario. In 2024, we also established a location in Victoria, British Columbia.
MAiDHouse has three programming areas: Improving Access to Space for MAiD, Centre for Excellence for Research, Education, and Training, and Grief and Bereavement Resources and Supports. The MAiDHouse facility is the first of its kind in Canada, providing equal access to space for anyone eligible for MAiD. MAiDHouse services are provided free of charge.
