About CADDAC
The Centre for ADHD Awareness Canada (CADDAC) is a national, evidence-based, not-for-profit organization providing leadership in awareness, education, and advocacy for ADHD across the lifespan. We are committed to improving the lives of individuals with ADHD and those who care for them by advancing understanding, reducing stigma, and influencing policy. Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization in alignment with its mission, strategic plan, and values. The ED will lead a dedicated team, foster partnerships, steward resources, and advocate for ADHD awareness and support across Canada. Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Hiring, onboarding, performance management, development and retention of staff
  • Provide inspirational and empathetic leadership to a small, passionate team, fostering a culture of trust, inclusion, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Empower and develop staff by setting clear direction, supporting professional growth, and recognizing contributions.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, mission-driven team environment where individuals are motivated to do their best work in service of CADDAC’s goals.
  • Promote staff well-being and engagement, particularly in a remote work environment, through open communication, clarity, and connection.
  • Maintain a strong remote work environment that supports employee well-being and performance.
  • Champion equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in all aspects of CADDAC’s work.
Strategy
  • Collaborate with the Board to implement and refresh the strategic plan.
  • Work with board and staff to ensure that CADDAC’s mission is fulfilled in accordance with strategic priorities.
  • Responsible for yearly planning to ensure that CADDAC is successfully fulfilling its mission
Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with all relevant policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of special initiatives
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the organization in accordance with the approved budget and business plan
  • Responsible for signing all notes, contracts, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization in accordance with the by-laws and policies of the organization
  • Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization
Program Oversight
  • Guide the development, delivery, and evaluation of CADDAC’s programs to maintain or improve quality
  • Ensure offerings are evidence-based, responsive to community needs, and aligned with strategic priorities.
Fundraising & Financial Stewardship
  • Lead fundraising strategy and execution, including donor engagement, grant writing, and partnerships.
  • Developing budgets, financial planning, and reporting, ensuring organizational sustainability and transparency.
  • Responsible for fundraising initiatives and developing other revenues necessary to support CADDAC’s mission, including regular meetings with funders, writing grants, and all fundraising activities
  • Ensure the organization’s sustainability by researching funding sources and by overseeing the development of fundraising plans
Advocacy & External Relations
  • Establish positive working collaboration and relationships with community groups, funders, government officials, and others through innovation and interagency networking to achieve the organization’s goals
  • Act as the public face of CADDAC, representing the organization in media, government, and public forums.
  • Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, including government, community partners, donors, and people with lived experience.
  • Influence public policy and systems change related to ADHD through advocacy and thought leadership.
Governance
  • Ensure that directors are being provided with timely and relevant information on operations, risks & opportunities necessary to discharge their duties and responsibilities
  • Attend board meetings
  • Ensure that the organization always operates in accordance with applicable laws, including without limitation CRA requirements
Financial Performance
  • Ensure accurate and complete financial reporting to the board
  • Responsible for developing an annual operating budget submitted to the board and quarterly financial statements which reflect the financial position of the organization
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position
  • Managing all expenditures within the authority delegated by the board
  • Ensure that sound bookkeeping, and accounting procedures are followed, specifically, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in health sciences, health administration, psychology, related field or equivalent experience.

About You
The ideal candidate:
  • Will be a self-starter with a minimum of 6 years as an Executive Director or with senior leadership experience in the non-profit/charitable sector.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing programs that align with organizational goals and community needs
  • Will be a champion of change and have a high level of comfort with ambiguity and leading neurodivergent teams.
  • Extensive experience developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with funders, government, provincial and national organizations, as well as community-based organizations, persons with lived experience, and researchers is required.
  • Ability to oversee all phases of program delivery, from concept and pilot to full implementation, evaluation, and scaling
  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships and government funding
  • Experience cultivating relationships with individual donors, foundations, and funding partners
  • Excellent negotiation, collaboration and interpersonal and strong skills in using technology to engage, supervise and monitor project activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgeting and financial planning, particularly in relation to fundraising targets and revenue diversification
  • Demonstrated success in using strategic thinking and analysis in planning, developing evaluation and program management initiatives.
  • Will have excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly related to summarizing multiple and complex sources of information so they are useful to various audiences and stakeholders.
  • Will have excellent planning and time management skills, with the ability to multitask.
Bilingualism (English/French) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $110,000.00, commensurate with experience.
