About Ronald McDonald House Alberta

Ronald McDonald House® Alberta supports families who must travel for vital medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured child. Our compassionate Houses in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Medicine Hat provide private family suites, warm meals, community support, and a home-away-from-home during incredibly difficult times. Each year, thousands of families from nearly 300 communities across Alberta stay with us—saving millions of dollars in accommodation and meal costs and finding strength in being close to their child and each other.

This work is supported not only by generous donors but by an army of volunteers. Last year volunteers gave more than 22,000 hours of their time to not only support our families in the Houses but also out at events in our communities.

Event Volunteers play an important role as ambassadors for Ronald McDonald House Alberta. You help people understand who we are, what we do, and why it matters to families across the province.

Each year, members of our community generously host events in support of the Houses. Volunteers help bring these events to life by showing up with energy and enthusiasm, sharing our story, sometimes selling raffle tickets, and connecting with guests in meaningful ways.

From golf tournaments and football games to holiday gift wrapping and everything in between, every event is a chance to build awareness and strengthen community support. Your presence helps turn these moments into a meaningful impact for the families we serve.

What You’ll Do

• Represent Ronald McDonald House Alberta at community events, fundraisers, and outreach opportunities
• Share information about the programs we offer to support the families we serve
• Greet attendees and engage in friendly, meaningful conversations
• Support event setup, takedown, and basic logistics as needed
• Encourage community involvement through volunteering, donating, or attending events

• Outgoing and comfortable speaking with the public
• Passionate about community and helping families
• Reliable and adaptable in a variety of event settings
• A strong communicator who can represent Ronald McDonald House Alberta in a positive, professional way

Commitment & Scheduling
