Event Volunteers

Rafiki Bridge is looking for Event Volunteers support the smooth delivery of 8 workshops and public events by assisting with participant flow, setup, and on-the-ground support. This role helps create a welcoming, organized, and safe environment for participants.

Key Responsibilities
Event Support

1. Assist with event setup and breakdown (chairs, materials, signage)
2. Support participant check-in and sign-in sheets
3. Welcome participants and help direct them within the venue
4. Support facilitators with materials distribution
5. Help maintain a calm, respectful, and inclusive environment
6. Support basic logistics during sessions (refreshments, room flow)

Participant Support

1. Provide friendly, respectful support to participants
2. Help ensure participants feel welcomed and supported
3. Maintain confidentiality and respect participant privacy
4. Support accessibility needs as directed by the team

Required Skills

Reliable and punctual

Comfortable interacting with community members

Respectful, non-judgmental, and culturally responsive

Willing to support trauma-informed spaces

Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Experience in community work or volunteering is an asset (not required)

Support & Recognition

• Transportation support provided for event days
• Light refreshments provided during shifts
• Honorarium/gift card provided at milestone events (e.g., anniversary and final celebration)
• Certificate of volunteering and reference letter (upon request)
