VOLUNTEER ROLE: EVENT SUPPORT VIEW POINT TORONTO 2025 Location: North York Central Library - Concourse Event Space, 5120 Yonge St, North York, ON
M2N 5N9
Date: Saturday, November 8, 2025
Time: 10:00 a.m. — 6:00 p.m. ET (volunteers required from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
Volunteer Shifts Available:
• Morning Shift: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. ET
• Afternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. ET
ROLE OVERVIEW As an Event Support Volunteer for View Point Calgary 2025, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming, accessible, and informative experience for attendees. This conference highlights the latest in vision health and research. Volunteers will assist with registration, provide sighted guide support for attendees with vision loss, and help with event setup and takedown. This is a great opportunity to support a meaningful cause and learn more about vision health advocacy.
Responsibilities
• Registration & Check-in (9:00–10:00 p.m.):
o Greet attendees, check them in, and distribute event materials (name tags, handouts, etc.).
• Sighted Guide:
o Provide sighted guide assistance for attendees with vision loss, helping them
navigate the venue. o Sighted Guide Training at 8:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. on event day is mandatory.
• Event Set-Up & Breakdown:
o Help set up materials before the event and assist with cleanup and packing
afterward.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Friendly and welcoming demeanour.
• Comfortable assisting individuals with vision loss (training provided).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and punctual.

Time Commitment
Volunteers are asked to commit to one of the two available shifts. Volunteers must also attend
one of the Sighted Guide training prior to their shifts.
