Event Planner Volunteer

Position Title: Event Planner Volunteer

Volunteer Type: Virtual

Location: Remote

Volunteer Hours: 2 hrs./wk., flexible work schedule

Volunteers Needed: 3

Reports to: Volunteer Services Coordinator & Event Planning Team Lead

Position Summary:

Volunteers in this role will collaborate closely with the Volunteer Services team to support the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of virtual volunteer events. These may include Volunteer Social Events, Gaming Events, Recognition Events, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Volunteer Services team in brainstorming and developing creative ideas for upcoming virtual events.
  • Help with event planning and preparation, including organizing materials and coordinating logistics.
  • Design and create engaging PowerPoint presentations each month, aligned with specific event themes.
  • Contribute to the overall enhancement of volunteer engagement through innovative and fun event concepts.
  • Creative and enthusiastic about event planning and volunteer engagement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and comfortable working in a virtual environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage monthly content deadlines.
  • A team player with strong communication skills.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to assist in event planning and execution.
  • Ability to assess situations effectively and provide relevant ideas and solutions.
  • Responsive to work-related emails and messages in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Competent in using Teams for virtual meetings and presentations.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Confident in presenting materials and engaging with clients virtually.
  • Punctual and reliable in submitting materials to supervisors on time.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Creative in developing engaging presentations for senior clients.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to follow directions effectively.
  • Responsible and dependable in maintaining clear communication with supervisors.

Orientation/Training:

  • Volunteer Services will conduct orientation on organization’s policies and procedures, including COVID-19 measures.
  • IPAC Mandatory training for onsite positions.
  • Organizational Training for new volunteers.

Supervision & Evaluation:

  • Supervision and support will be provided by the Volunteer Services Coordinator and Event Planning Team Lead.

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible hours with an average of 5–10 hours per month, depending on event schedules.

Other:

  • Will not lift clients.
  • Will always wear proper non-slip covered shoes.
  • Will always wear personal protective equipment.
  • Vulnerable Service Sector Check screening is mandatory.
  • Proof of full vaccination or Medical Exemption Certificate is mandatory.
  • Must be 16 years or older
