Event Day Volunteer – Annual Client BBQ

About Bellwoods

Bellwoods Centres for Community Living is a Toronto-based registered non-profit that supports adults with physical disabilities through accessible housing, personal support services, and inclusive community programs. Our annual Client BBQ is one of our largest community events, bringing together clients, families, volunteers, staff, and community partners for an afternoon of food, entertainment, and connection.

We are currently seeking 10 Event Day Volunteers to help create a fun, welcoming, and accessible experience for all attendees.

What You Will Do

As an Event Day Volunteer, you will work alongside Bellwoods staff to support the successful delivery of the event. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with event setup and teardown
• Welcoming and directing guests
• Supporting the registration table
• Assisting with food and refreshment service
• Helping with activity stations and event logistics
• Providing general support to attendees throughout the event
• Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment

*Volunteers may sign up for setup, event support, cleanup, or a full-day shift.

What We Are Looking For

• Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Comfort interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Willingness to take initiative and assist where needed
• Previous volunteer or event experience is welcome but not required

NOTE: Volunteers should be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods and may be asked to assist with light lifting during setup and cleanup.

Time Commitment

Tuesday, July 21, 2026

Available volunteer shifts:

• Setup: 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
• Event Support: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Cleanup: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Volunteers are welcome to sign up for one shift or multiple shifts.
