Engagement Manager – Overview
The Engagement Manager is responsible for the delivery of the consulting engagement, making it the most critical role to the success of a consulting engagement. The Engagement Manager is the team “quarterback” who guides the process from beginning to end. This includes clarifying the workplan with the client to form a more detailed approach during the kickoff meeting, coordinating the efforts and work product of the team of consultants, and keeping the project on track by scheduling meetings by the appropriate deadlines. The Engagement Manager will collaborate with the consulting team members.
Examples of potential client engagements include:
- Identifying key growth opportunities for a client;
- Creating a development plan to drive membership;
- Determining the feasibility of a client’s new proposed service;
- Assessing potential demographic markets for a client’s services.
The consulting project will typically last twelve (12) weeks. We will be actively engaging the Engagement Manager on the sourcing of our next non-profit client.
Responsibilities
Engagement Managers are responsible for the following:
- Participating in orientation, mid-term and final review sessions,
- Leading a team of 3-4 volunteer consultants, facilitating the team progress, ensuring timelines and client deliverables are met.
- Actively contribute to the success of the project by leading development of a statement of work based on team consultations with the Associate Director of Projects, your nonprofit client and project advisor
- Working with the team to research, collect, analyze and synthesize data
- Leading the development of strategic options and recommendations
- Making presentations to your client and the Executive Team (as necessary)
- Regular updates on the consulting team's progress and raising any necessary concerns
- Sharing your experiences and feedback with regards to the consulting team

We welcome individuals seeking to broaden and supplement their work experience with not-for-profit exposure.

Time Commitment
Collaboration Partners takes its client engagements seriously; those who wish to apply should expect to commit an average of five to ten hours a week for project work, meetings, events, and travel. Volunteers schedule meetings with their team, client, and advisor based on the availability of the participants, and make their own travel arrangements to and from meetings and events.
