JOB OPPORTUNITY

ECEBC Human Resource Position Come and join the growing and dynamic ECEBC Provincial team!

ECEBC is currently seeking 1 qualified multifaceted candidate for the position of ECEBC Human Resource Assistant. This position will work closely with the ECEBC Finance Manager, ECEBC Director, and ultimately report to, the ECEBC Executive Director to ensure effective execution of the Society’s strategic plan, in alignment with the ECEBC obligations, as well as broader priorities to satisfy both programmatic and organizational development needs.

Position Summary:

This position will support the growing organization in human resource needs and duties, facilitate current sponsorship relationships, as well as foster new sponsorship opportunities.

Compensation: $2480/month (40 hours per month, at $62/hour)

This position is a contract and does not qualify for benefits.

Broad Overview:

- Align work with the strategic direction setting for the organization. - Act as a representative of ECEBC. - Contribute to a deep vision and proactive strategic HR plan. - Produce reporting and statistical information as requested. - Understands and commits to ECEBC obligations regarding diversity, equity and inclusion. - Work with ECEBC team members. - Assists the ECEBC leadership.

Note: the above duties/responsibilities may shift as needs emerge. Any changes will be discussed and agreed upon via contract modification.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment and Hiring - Create/review/update an HR package (evolving what is current existing) - Design policies and procedures in recruitment and hiring - Explore HR templates and software - Documenting annual reviews - Writing EAs and contracts, sending for signing - Writing job postings - Writing and updating job descriptions - Collection and review of applicable insurance documents/confirmation from contractors (i.e.

liability insurance, WorkSafe BC, group health benefits plan etc.)

- Review and update the operations manual (policies and procedures) in consultation with the ED, Director and Finance Manager (for financial related-matters)

2. Ongoing HR Management - Record staff annual training completion (i.e. security training and PIPA training) - Record and track holiday, personal, overtime, and sick days/hours - Track timesheets - Extended benefit provider liaison - Facilitate annual evaluation schedule

3. Sponsorship: - Exploring new sponsorship avenues - Exploring annual fundraising opportunities - Facilitating conference sponsorship

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be an ECEBC provincial member in good standing (current member) and will have the following:

- Human Resource education/certification - Human resource work experience - Experience in sponsorship navigation - BC Employment standards knowledge - Understanding and experience in the charitable/not-for-profit sector. - Experience working in a decentralized or provincial program. - General ECEBC knowledge and sector (asset) (ex. Early Learning Framework, the ECEBC Code of

Ethics, and the Truth and Reconciliation commitments) - Program management experience/skills - Strong engagement and relationship skills.

Reporting Structure

The contract ultimately reports to the Executive Director. It will be supported by the Director of Programs & Operations. The successful applicant will work closely with applicable ECEBC staff.

Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships (i.e. staff, members, consultants, volunteers, funders, and other partners)

- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several time-sensitive projects at any given time

- Ability to take initiative and have vision in creating new HR processes where needed - Detail oriented - Conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle potentially difficult situations with tact and

diplomacy - Ability to function professionally and ethically during periods of high stress

- Knowledge and understanding of ECEBC’s program and services - Efficient on online platforms (i.e. zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.

Conditions

This is a contract position.

Closing Date: August 4, 2025 and/or open until a suitable candidate (s) is found.

Duration: Position to start ASAP and contract will be until March 31, 2027.
