Position Summary:
Reporting to the EarlyON Program Manager, the EarlyON and BFSP Floater is responsible for providing high-quality, flexible support across multiple EarlyON and Black Family Support programs and locations. The position will assist in facilitating interactive, play-based learning experiences, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for children aged 0-6 years and their caregivers. This role requires adaptability, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various program teams to enhance family engagement and child development.
DUTIES:
• Support EarlyON and BFS programs by filling in at various locations as needed, ensuring
seamless program delivery.
• Implement play-based learning activities that promote children’s physical, social,
emotional, and cognitive development.
• Create an inclusive and culturally responsive environment that respects the diverse needs
of families, including those from equity-deserving groups.
• Engage parents and caregivers in the learning process by modeling positive interactions
and providing guidance on early childhood development.
• Assist in planning and executing family events, workshops, and seasonal activities that
enhance parent-child bonding and community connections.
• Ensure program spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained, monitoring materials and
resources for availability and safety compliance. Maintain accurate attendance records
and contribute to program evaluations, data collection, and reporting.
• Support families by providing referrals to relevant community resources and services
when needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members and external partners to enhance program
offerings and community engagement.
• Perform additional duties as required to support program goals and organizational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early
Childhood Educators.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with young children and families in an
EarlyON or childcare setting. New graduates with relevant experience are welcome to
apply.
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning
approaches.
• Ability to work in diverse communities and implement anti-oppressive and inclusive
practices.
• Experience in facilitating parent-child programs, group discussions, and interactive
workshops is an asset.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to adapt to different locations and work environments, demonstrating flexibility
and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification is mandatory.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between program
sites.
• Proof of immunization requirements mandated for Early Childhood Educators (ECEs).
• Must provide record of immunization mandated for the Early Childhood
Educators (ECEs)
