The ECCDC is a charitable organization in its 31st year, inspiring excellence in early learning and child care through providing cutting edge training, innovative resources, and mentoring services highlighting best practices and emerging trends. The ECCDC is proud to offer capacity building and professional learning supports for the early years and child care sector in Niagara, through funding provided by Niagara Region Children’s Services. Upon request, the ECCDC may also provide professional learning and mentoring supports outside of Niagara, on a fee for service basis.

We are seeking a highly professional, dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed individual to join our dynamic, values-based Team. This leadership position will support our Professional Learning and Mentoring Services. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and facilitating innovative professional learning opportunities, using evidence-based research to support quality, pedagogy, curriculum, emerging trends, and best practices. The successful candidate will have opportunities to enhance local community of practice and mentoring programs and will offer customized workshops for local early learning programs in alignment with Niagara’s Special Needs Resourcing Program. This position will involve travelling locally and on occasion out of Niagara, to support professional learning requests. The primary hours for the position are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; however, working some evenings and Saturdays may be required to support requests.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma and Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and proven experience in a range of child care supervisory positions.
  • Understanding and experience in planning using Ontario’s recognized early years frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of child care specific policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Previous experience in developing and facilitating professional learning related to curriculum, pedagogy, and practice will be considered an asset.
  • Outstanding communication skills; written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on creating respectful, nurturing, and empowering relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively; independently, and within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated documentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy and collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and related computer programs.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is a requirement.
