Job Purpose

Join Our Mission: Director, President’s Office

Be the engine behind the mission. Lead from the core.

As Director of the President’s Office, you’ll serve as the President & CEO’s key partner and operational lead—turning bold vision into focused action. From managing her calendar and key relationships, to leading executive communications and Board governance, you’ll bring clarity, connection, and momentum to the heart of our organization.

You’ll lead a small but mighty team and champion a digital-first approach that simplifies complexity and strengthens alignment. With your sharp instincts, collaborative spirit, and future-forward mindset, you’ll help create the conditions where purpose thrives and leadership flows.

A note from our CEO, Allison Alley:

“At this pivotal time in our journey, I’m looking for an operational partner who brings clarity, calm, and excellence to complex work—and who is energized by purpose. This role will help steward high-level priorities, strengthen our systems, and amplify our impact—so that together, we can serve the world’s most vulnerable children with even greater effectiveness.”

Responsibilities

Step into a pivotal role where no two days are the same—but every day moves the mission forward.

Executive Office & Leadership Enablement

  • Act as the President’s trusted right hand—helping her stay focused on what matters most.
  • Manage the CEO’s calendar, activities, and stakeholder engagements with clarity, foresight, and care.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic Executive Office initiatives.
  • Anticipate needs, eliminate roadblocks, and bring proactive solutions to the table.
  • Introduce rhythms and systems that elevate executive effectiveness and decision-making.
  • Serve as the bridge between vision and execution—connecting priorities across departments, initiatives, and conversations.

Board Governance & Executive Administrative Excellence

  • Oversee all Board of Directors logistics—meetings, retreats, onboarding, and digital resources.
  • Partner with the Board Executive Assistant to ensure every Board experience is seamless and well-supported.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Governance teams to uphold high standards of nonprofit governance.
  • Create, edit, and manage key deliverables—speeches, decks, reports, talking points—on behalf of the CEO.
  • Ensure the President is fully prepared and present for every engagement, internal and external.
  • Keep the President’s Office running smoothly and strategically behind the scenes.

CEO Messaging & Internal Communications

  • Serve as the internal voice of the CEO—writing with clarity, compassion, and leadership tone.
  • Lead CEO communication strategies that support transparency, alignment, and culture.
  • Partner with key teams (e.g., People, Culture & Connections, Change Management) to cascade messages effectively.
  • Elevate the employee experience by connecting messaging to meaning, mission, and momentum.

Digital Transformation & Knowledge Management

  • Champion the digitization of Executive and Board processes—smart tools, smooth systems.
  • Build intuitive knowledge hubs, dashboards, and communication flows.
  • Drive continuous improvement in how information is shared, tracked, and used for decision-making.
  • Bring a “simplify to amplify” mindset—removing friction wherever you find it.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, coach, and empower a high-impact team (3–4 direct reports) in governance, executive support, and internal communications.
  • Build a culture of trust, integrity, service, and collaboration.
  • Model emotional intelligence, discretion, and presence at the executive level.
  • Embody and reinforce our organizational values—faith, courage, humility, and excellence.

Qualifications

You’re a relationship-builder, systems-thinker, and operations expert with deep executive presence. You thrive in complexity, communicate with clarity, and have a bias for action.

You have:

  • 10+ years of experience in executive operations, strategic communications, or senior leadership support.
  • A proven track record supporting C-suite leaders and/or Boards in fast-paced, high-trust environments.
  • Digital fluency—comfortable using and optimizing tools like Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Jira, or similar.
  • Outstanding writing and messaging skills—able to reflect the CEO’s voice and tone with nuance and authenticity.
  • Strategic judgment, emotional intelligence, and unshakeable discretion.
  • A calm, confident approach under pressure—and a “make it happen” mindset.
  • Experience in nonprofit or purpose-driven organizations is a strong asset.
