Join Empowered Futures as our Director of Marketing & Communications and help bring alignment, visibility, and cohesion to a dynamic group of creative teams dedicated to youth empowerment. We are a forward-thinking nonprofit committed to building confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful young adults through self-empowerment, mentorship, and community support.

As our Director of Marketing & Communications, you’ll oversee operational alignment across four subcommittees—Marketing & Communications, Events, International Affairs, and Design Hub. While each subcommittee has its own Lead responsible for execution, your role ensures they are working in sync, timelines are transparent, and messaging remains cohesive.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, understands how to keep moving parts aligned, and enjoys building clarity behind the scenes. Your work will help prevent misalignment, improve team communication, and strengthen the impact of all public-facing initiatives—making you a key contributor to organizational continuity and campaign effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Align the work of four subcommittees: Marketing & Communications, Events, International Affairs, and Design Hub
  • Maintain visibility into subcommittee timelines and deliverables to support cohesive execution—without taking on execution yourself
  • Ensure cross-team awareness of campaigns, initiatives, and shared deadlines
  • Serve as the primary operational link between subcommittee Leads and the Board Member – Marketing
  • Facilitate updates, sync-ups, and cross-functional collaboration to keep teams aligned
  • Flag risks, overlaps, or gaps early and help subcommittees course-correct when needed
  • Help uphold brand consistency by monitoring messaging and visual alignment across deliverables
  • Ensure subcommittees have access to shared tools and timelines to support alignment and visibility
  • Support onboarding of new subcommittee members by providing operational context and structure
  • Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and teamwork across the marketing function

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, communications, project coordination, or team support
  • Education in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to connect high-level planning with team-level actions
  • Experience working across multiple teams or within a matrixed/volunteer environment
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Notion, Trello, Airtable)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to maintain structure without micromanaging
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, volunteer-based setting
  • Passionate about youth empowerment, community engagement, and enabling creative teams

Benefits:

  • Empowering emerging adults with their growth and development
  • Innovating the movement towards mental wellness
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary senior board members
  • Growing your professional network
  • Room for advancement and growth within the organization

Join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young adults while shaping a brighter future for mental health and well-being. Together, we can inspire hope and create lasting change. Apply now!
