Compensation: $85,000
The Opportunity
Evergreen Hospice is entering a critical phase of growth, with the development of a hospice residence and increasing demand for community-based services.
To support this next phase, Evergreen is seeking a Director of Fundraising to build and lead a structured, sustainable fundraising function.
This role will move Evergreen from a reactive funding approach to a proactive, strategic fundraising model—with clear ownership, strong donor relationships, and consistent revenue generation.
Core Areas of Responsibility
1. Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals
- Establish clear revenue targets across funding streams
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for growth, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising
2. Donor Development & Stewardship
- Build and manage relationships with individual, corporate, and community donors
- Develop and implement donor stewardship and retention strategies
- Strengthen donor recognition and engagement practices
- Lead personalized outreach and relationship management
3. Grants & Funding Pipeline
- Establish and manage a centralized grant pipeline
- Identify, track, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Oversee grant writing and reporting processes
- Ensure deadlines, compliance, and reporting requirements are met
4. Fundraising Campaigns & Events
- Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events
- Strengthen and expand existing fundraising initiatives (e.g., community events, partnerships)
- Develop new fundraising opportunities aligned with community engagement
5. Partnerships & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, organizations, and community leaders
- Identify opportunities for sponsorship and collaboration
- Represent Evergreen in the community to strengthen visibility and support
6. Data, Reporting & Accountability
- Maintain visibility of donor engagement and funding activity
- Develop reporting structures for leadership and board
- Track progress against revenue targets and fundraising goals
- Improve organization and use of donor and funding data
7. Alignment with Marketing & Communications
- Work closely with marketing and communications to align messaging with fundraising priorities
- Ensure storytelling reflects impact and supports donor engagement
- Support development of campaigns, content, and outreach strategies

- A clear and active fundraising strategy with defined revenue targets
- Increased consistency in donor engagement and stewardship
- Stronger relationships with corporate and community partners
- Improved coordination between fundraising, marketing, and programs
- Increased revenue and diversified funding streams
You are someone who:
- Has 5–8+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations
- Has a track record of building or growing fundraising functions
- Is confident in relationship-building and external engagement
- Can balance strategy with execution
- Is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple funding streams
- Is motivated by mission-driven work and community impact
