Vastiva is currently seeking a passionate and detail-oriented volunteer Director of Editing & Publications to support and lead the organization’s research publication initiatives. This leadership role is ideal for individuals interested in academic and informal editing, research development, the social sector, remote learning, e-impact, and policy recommendations and publications management.
Volunteer Position Overview
The volunteer Director of Editing & Publications will oversee publication processes and editorial workflows across multiple research initiatives at Vastiva. The successful candidate will work closely with other leadership teams to help maintain high standards of professional writing.
Start date: as soon as possible. Tentative start date: May 22.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support a small editorial team. Organize publication files, shared documents, and internal tracking systems. Coordinate editorial workflows for research articles and publication projects with social researchers
- Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to researchers. Review research drafts for clarity, structure, professionalism, and coherence. Help contribute to optimizing internal editorial coordination systems.
- Assist in the management and coordination of 100+ social researchers' work across diverse projects and time zones. Maintain organized communication regarding revisions, deadlines, and publication timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong academic, professional, or research writing skills.
- Experience with editing, proofreading, publications, or research coordination is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to provide professional and constructive feedback.

This is a volunteer-based leadership opportunity for individuals who are passionate about strengthening research quality, supporting emerging researchers, and contributing to collaborative global knowledge initiatives.
