JOB POSTING DIRECTOR, COMMUNITY INCLUSION (CI) & INNOVATION

Purpose of Position: As a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Director of

Community Inclusion Programs and Innovation is responsible for ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services for individuals and families in alignment with the organization’s Mission, Vision, Values, and

sector best practices. This role oversees multiple program streams and leads innovation by identifying and implementing new program opportunities that respond to evolving community needs.

Director, Community Inclusion Programs and Innovation

Location: North Vancouver, BC Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Chief Executive Officer The North Shore Disability Resource Centre (NSDRC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to

join our Senior Management Team as Director, Community Inclusion Programs and Innovation. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a range of community inclusion programs serving individuals with disabilities and their families. You will support and guide program managers, lead strategic initiatives, and drive innovation by identifying and developing new services that meet emerging community needs.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead and supervise Community Inclusion programs (e.g., STAGE, Adult Life Skills, Children’s & Youth Programs)


• Mentor and support program staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance planning


• Ensure program quality, compliance, and accreditation standards
• Oversee program budgets, contribute to funding applications, and manage special projects


• Champion innovation in program development and community inclusion practices
• Familiarity with budgeting processes
• Experience working with provincial funders (CLBC, MCFD, etc.)


• Identify gaps in program areas and opportunities for program growth & development
• Represent the NSDRC in external networks and community partnerships

Qualifications


• Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field, Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in the sector
• Strong knowledge of disability-related issues, inclusion practices, and community resources


• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience writing and applying for grants is a benefit

Reports to: Executive Director

Requirements
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Emergency First Aid and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
